A rewards loop residents can trust

An association wanted residents to declare plastic waste for pickup and earn rewards for it. Collectors, controllers and administrators all had a part to play, and a points system anyone can game is worse than no points at all.

1. 01Built a mobile app in French and Arabic, with full right-to-left layout rather than mirrored text.
2. 02Modelled four roles: resident, collector, controller and administrator.
3. 03Made points and reward redemption impossible to drive below zero.
4. 04Added fraud detection rules and an audit log on every sensitive write.
5. 05Added push notifications, and a staging environment with a build testers can install.
